Sign Up Now for Forecast Services for the 2025 Marblehead Halifax Race
Each yacht will receive individual briefings with up to 6 crew members welcome to attend. This is NOT an auditorium style briefing with hundreds of people in attendance, but rather a very individualized service designed to allow the skipper and crew to get as much detailed information about the weather pattern as possible, including levels of uncertainty and possible alternate evolutions of the pattern, and to get specific advice on race strategy tailored to the performance expectations of each individual yacht. The ability to ask questions of the meteorologist is a key component of all briefings.
Briefings will be scheduled as follows:
Friday July 4th: Preliminary briefing featuring an overview of the weather pattern, discussion of expected winds and seas in a general fashion, and a preliminary set of weather maps. Tidal current data around Cape Sable will be provided. This breifing will be provided using email and discussion through telephone and/or videoconference.
Saturday July 5th: Detailed briefing featuring an in depth discussion of the weather pattern, possible variations which may arise in the pattern, detailed forecasts of winds and seas, and a complete set of weather maps. Routing and strategy suggestions will be provided. This briefing will be provided in person.
Sunday morning July 6th: Final briefing to discuss any changes to the expected weather pattern and the forecast and resulting changes in strategy. This breifing will be provided using email and discussion through telephone and/or videoconference.
Fee for the complete pre-race briefing service is $425.
Forecast services after the race for return passages to the northeastern United States are available at discounted rates. Fee for departure forecast for return to the northeastern U.S. is $175. Fee for daily email updates during the return is $30 each.
Accurate Weather Information is Critical For This Race Both for Performance and Safety Reasons
