Sign Up Now for Forecast Services for the 2026 Newport Bermuda Race
Each yacht will receive individual briefings with up to 6 crew members welcome to attend. This is NOT an auditorium style briefing with hundreds of people in attendance, but rather a very individualized service designed to allow the skipper and crew to get as much detailed information about the weather pattern as possible, including levels of uncertainty and possible alternate evolutions of the pattern, and to get specific advice on race strategy tailored to the performance expectations of each individual yacht. The ability to ask questions of the meteorologist is a key component of all briefings.
At this time, all briefings are planned to take place via videoconference (zoom) or by telephone. All briefing materials will be emailed prior to the scheduled videconferences.
Briefings will be scheduled as follows:
Wednesday afternoon/evening June 17th: Preliminary briefing featuring an overview of the weather pattern, discussion of expected winds and seas in a general fashion, and a preliminary set of weather maps. Altimetry data showing the Gulf Stream will also be included.
Thursday June 18th: Detailed briefing featuring an in depth discussion of the weather pattern, possible variations which may arise in the pattern, detailed forecasts of winds and seas, and a complete set of weather maps. Routing and strategy suggestions will be provided.
Friday morning June 19th: Final briefing to go over any last minute changes in the forecsat and their impact on the race strategy.
Fee for the complete pre-race briefing service is $495.
Forecast services after the race for return passages to eastern North America are available at discounted rates. Fee for departure forecast for return from Bermuda is $175. Fee for daily email updates during the return is $30 each.
Jenifer Clark’s ocean race package is recommended. This year, her package will include Gulf Stream charts three times per week beginning in March, the full routing package immediately prior to the race which includes many charts, a detailed narrative, and routing suggestions based on oceanographic features, and Gulf Stream charts for the return trip. Fee for Jenifer’s race package is $395.
Accurate Weather Information is Critical For This Race Both for Performance and Safety Reasons
